Education in its broadest sense is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an individual. In its technical sense education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills and values from one generation to another.

Teachers in educational institutions direct the education of students and might draw on many subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, science and history. This process is sometimes called schooling when referring to the education of teaching only a certain subject, usually as professors at institutions of higher learning. There is also education in fields for those who want specific vocational skills, such as those required to be a pilot. In addition there is an array of education possible at the informal level, e.g., at museums and libraries, with the Internet, and in life experience.

The right to education has been described as a basic human right: since 1952, Article 2 of the first Protocol to the European Convention on Human Rights obliges all signatory parties to guarantee the right to education. At world level, the United Nations' International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of 1966 guarantees this right under its Article 13.

Should sex education be a manditory class in high schools throughout the United Sates?
Q. Do you think sex education should be a manditory class in High schools across America? Why or Why not? Could this possibly prevent accidental pregnancy and help the economy?
Asked by M - Mon Nov 17 08:42:05 2008 - - 12 Answers - 8 Comments

A. As a teenager in high school myself, i do indeed believe that sexual education should be a mandatory course in health or physical education classes. As someone who does not believe in sex before marriage, i know that others do, and many of my friends are not virgins, and i know some girls in my school are either pregnant, or have had an abortion. If they knew better and were educated more clearly, it could help prevent this. We were not offered sex-ed up until this year and I do know some girls who have stopped being sexual active with their boyfriends because now they know the cold hard facts. So all in all, i do think that sexual education should be in all school across america.

What is the education requirement difference between a neuropsychologist and psychologist?
Q. I was wondering, what is the difference between the education needed to become a neuropsychologist vs. a psychologist? I know there is obviously a difference, and I'd lie to know how much more education one needs to be a neuropsychologist. Are there more science-based classes that need to be taken? I want to be a neuropsychologist, but I don't know how much more I would have to do in school. If it's as much as a doctor, then I definately won't. Thanks so much.

A. The training is different. You want to find a school that has a neuropsychology specialization and ensure that you take classes on physiological psychology, neuroanatomy, neuropsychological testing, and psychopharmacology.. You should also obtain a predoctoral internship in neuropsychology that is APA or CPA accredited. After you graduate, you will need a postdoctoral neuropsychology residency or fellowship.
